I wonder if there is something about the GoComics/Artist interface and procedure for publishing here that is prohibitive for artists. I have noticed many comics that do not update regularly here, but are much more frequent on other platforms, like their own website and social media like facebook and twitter. One artist I messaged on facebook about infrequent postings on GoComics, and he simply said he didn’t have time to post here, even though he regularly posts on various other sites. Makes me wonder if there is not something about this site which turns artists off. Maybe it is simply a matter of reaching your audience, and other platforms are friendlier and reach a wider, more varied audience. Also makes me wonder if a more traditional site like this can compete with more progressive and relevant social media sites.
