I like broccoli, raw and cooked as long as its not “boiled to death”. Same with cauliflower. I will eat cabbage if it is in coleslaw. Brussels sprouts, maybe roasted……

If you had been paying attention you would have seen Mum and Dad pushing their share onto your plate.

My kids ate broccoli nearly every dinner. One only liked it raw, which was a super easy accommodation. We never forced anyone to finish their meal. We just said, “This is what we’re serving. Whether you eat it or not is up to you. There is nothing else.” I don’t recall there ever being an issue.

I always liked broccoli, even as a little kid. I always liked most vegetables, actually.

I might even have liked spinach if we hadn’t always gotten the canned stuff back then.

It looks like broccoli is the main course, the side and all. My ex made it interesting enough to eat by holding on up and saying “Look! It’s an infant tree!”

I remember that. I also remember the projectile vomiting after. I cannot handle cooked broccoli, cauliflower or spinach. I can handle raw spinach in a salad.

Lucky for me, we never had broccoli at home…or cauliflower, when I was growing up. I’d eat salad or coleslaw, beans, greenbeans, carrots, but not those two.

G W Bush from an episode of Histeria! – “I do not like this broccoli. Now go away and let me be!”.
