Most Afghans may be illiterate, but they aren't dumb. Man #1: Obama's father is a Muslim but he is a Christian. Everyone knows this, yes? My informal street poll in the rural town of Chaghcharan shows them to be more knowledgeable and tolerant than Americans. Man #2: He is not Muslim, but it doesn't matter because we are all brothers. There were a few yahoos denying reality... Man #3: Obama says he is Christian... But I KNOW in my HEART he is MUSLIM! Most were puzzled as to why half of Americans don't know their own president's religion. Man #4: Americans can read but choose not to? You have strange culture.
