Been following Lila for a couple months so far and I really enjoy the strip - but this new character worries me - from this week’s series it looks like you’re stereotyping those who aren’t gay. Not everyone who is not gay thinks this way you know.
And even those who think gays should not get married don’t necessarily see it in the way this character does - there are people who see gays on the same level as anyone else regardless of sexual orientation and deserving of equal rights, but simply think it makes sense to use a different term other than “marriage” with all the implied baggage the word carries.
“Marriage” is the socio-religious term.
“Domestic partnership” is the legal term, regardless of whether it’s uniting homosexuals or bisexuals.
John,
Been following Lila for a couple months so far and I really enjoy the strip - but this new character worries me - from this week’s series it looks like you’re stereotyping those who aren’t gay.
In the end, though, it’s just a word….
