I still have mine. I bought it in ‘69, it’s the size of a cigarette pack.
And THAT’S NO BULL!
Fred Oxymoron: And I’m Fred Oxymoron.
Ethel Oxymoron: And you’re listening to..
Together: “The Delicious Lush”, on National Public Radio.
Ethel Oxymoron: Now, Fred, the days are getting longer, and the mercury is rising.
Fred Oxymoron: It sure is, Margaret Jo. And that cna only mean one thing.
Together: Summer.
Ethel Oxymoron: Now.. one of my favorite things about summer is that you can have your meals outside.
Fred Oxymoron: That is neat.
Ethel Oxymoron: Yeah. It’s fun. It’s warm. It’s warm outside.
Fred Oxymoron: Yeah. Summer’s my favorite season.
Ethel Oxymoron: Same here. Because it’s hotter than the rest of the year.
Fred Oxymoron: It sure is.
Ethel Oxymoron: It’s fun, isn’t it?
Fred Oxymoron: It’s neat.
Ethel Oxymoron: Fun.
Fred Oxymoron: Good times. Now, we have some exciting ideas on how to keep cool during these summer months.
Ethel Oxymoron: That’s right, Teri. One of my favoritesummer treats is a nice tall glass of soda water.
Fred Oxymoron: Mmm.. me, too. Sometimes, to keep things interesting, I like to add a little bit of ice.
Ethel Oxymoron: Thanks for bringing that up.
Fred Oxymoron: You’re welcome.
Ethel Oxymoron: I see your point.
Fred Oxymoron: Thank you. And, actually, I don’t know if you noticed, there are many different kinds of ice.
Ethel Oxymoron: You’re absolutely right. There’s cubed ice.
Fred Oxymoron: Crushed ice.
Ethel Oxymoron: Cracked ice.
Fred Oxymoron: Shaved ice.
Ethel Oxymoron: Shaved ice? I didn’t know ice could growa beard!
[ they laugh ]
Fred Oxymoron: That’s funny! Did you just think of that right now?
Ethel Oxymoron: No, I thought of it last night and wrote it down.
Fred Oxymoron: You’re very funny.
Ethel Oxymoron: Thanks.
Fred Oxymoron: You’re so fun to be around.
Ethel Oxymoron: Thanks, so are you. It’s fun being with you.
I don’t know which is stranger… the strip or the comments.
