WAY too many people have “deals” in their relationships. It becomes merely a contract that can be broken. WAY too few have covenants before God that makes for a real, lasting lifetime commitment. Love, even when the other is unlovely; serve each other, try to out-give each other in kindness and respect. Take responsibility for your actions, don’t be self-centered and bless your spouse even when you don’t feel they deserve it. Live in the humility of knowing that you’re probably not the worlds best spouse all the time either.
