We had the original Elf on the Shelf. It was attached to a gift I gave my wife when we were dating as teenagers. Her mom put the decoration in a different place in the house every Christmas. It wasn’t moved every day, but it did move every Christmas.
We inherited it after we got married and still have it over 50 years later. He’s living atop the wagon wheel lamp in the living room this year.
