I keep a copy of hand sanitizer in the trunk. I pop the trunk, use the sanitizer, then touch the car. I rarely touch my car door handle or the interior with potentially contaminated hands.
This is one time when leaving the car in the sun and having the interior temperature rise to 160 degrees works. Under ideal conditions the virus can last up to 72 hours on a plastic surface. 160 degree heat and direct sunshine isn’t ideal conditions. Since I use my car less than every other day, it’s probably safe.
