This is a serious problem for some people. They either cannot get into work mode, or they can’t get out of it.

I spent the summer of 2019 unemployed. During that time I had to set up a work space and discipline myself to work on the job search. It prepared me for work from home.

I am fortunate. My work space is set up permanently. I don’t have to clear off table, drag out the laptop and roll up a file cabinet. And I don’t have to share space with someone being home schooled.

All I have to do is move the TV remote. If it is on the desk, it’s home time. If my cell phone is on the desk, it’s work time.

Here are some tips on setting up a home office.https://www.lifesavvy.com/6392/how-to-set-up-a-great-home-office-even-when-you-dont-have-much-space/

Lifesavvy’s sister site, howtogeek also has tips.

    Problems this changed world.

Most families are working/studying at home. More food, utilities, maintenance. Higher costs for expanded internet usage. Medical care. On the other hand, employers see reduced costs for office space, maintenance, work place insurance, etc.

Question: Will employers work out a way to boost salaries as a compensation to help families carry the extra costs? I can guess the answer.

Two adults working from home. Can they take a business deduction for use of the work space on their income tax form? If so, how do they divide it between them?

    And the ripple effect continues.
