PBS station in NYC used to run a tape of the yule log burning in the fireplace at Gracie Mansion. It would run for hours with Christmas music as the sound track. May still be around I haven’t looked for it in years (course being in Georgia now doesn’t help much).
Direct TV is in a new pissing contest with CBS so it has been off the air for several days now. Yet they can still carry 127 Informercial channels.
Ah “Pay TV” – Since you’re paying for it, there will be no commercials – or so the ads said back in 1965.
I don’t watch a lot of TV. I’ve not found any prime time programs that hold my interest. I am not into NCIS (fill in the blank) type programs and the comedies are boring.
The only program I try to watch is Jeopardy, but when the category is TV or Movies, I strike out.

It’s getting down to that. Next week, The World of Christmas Trees, with examples from everywhere.

I never understood this. Who has a fireplace four feet off the floor, and/or who puts their TV on the floor?

We burn our regular fireplace and sometimes at the same time have a fireplace with Christmas music on our tv. Really adds to the atmosphere!

Also moderately relaxing, watching the basketful of puppies video.

In my city the “fireplace” channel is running year round. Always a fire…even in 90° heat in the middle of July.
