Somebody doesn’t seem to understand what it means to jam.

So…let’s not learn anything important going on in the world!

Well, kid, if there was anything else that wouldn’t deaden one’s hearing, maybe. Too bad there is only the one kind of classical music station. I could stand a classical jazz station that included jazz from the middle decades of the 1900’s, i.e. Beiderbecke to Brubeck, Etta James and Ella to Cleo Laine and Mel, MJQ to Mulligan, Charlie Byrd to João Gilberto, Stan Getz to Paul Desmond, Rich and Roach, etc. Would even listen to the ads and the blather.

Thanks goodness for the durability of vinyl lp’s.

My wife listens to NPR in the car.

Listen kid, my car my jam.

I stopped listening to NPR when our local switched from music to talk. Really miss hearing classical music that I wasn’t familiar with. And the operas broadcast from the Met.

The stories repeat. That doesn’t stop spouse from listening to it all day sans headphones. Same stories. Over and over. Loudly.

You can download/stream from the internet at home and if your car has the capabilities (WIFI enabled) you can get it there as well.

Mom, you have a young smart conservative son there!

This is exactly what my daughter said every morning while I drove her to school. Now, it is what her children say to her. This really made me chuckle.

Actually, on the local level this scene often includes kids with pda’s and earbuds, so Moms can listen to what they can stand.
