With me it’s abbreviations, or as a technical term, initialisms. I just got used to LOL, and now they have a new one, IJBOL, I Just Busted Out Laughing. To me, the I and J are a given, resulting in BOL. Not any better IMHO. Why not leave it as it was, LOL?
