    And obviously they’ve given up teaching bears the difference between spelling and vocabulary (which today’s strip deals with) and grammar (which it doesn’t)!

    Well, Ben Franklin had an idea to simplify American English further to remove much of its Frankenstein style crazy quilt aspects from its melding of several different language traditions into one confusing monstrosity. He failed. In the 21st century communication devices he could never conceive of may have done it by its very nature. Thumb typing and children spending more time writing notes to each other than actually speaking to each other. Ironic isn’t it? DZ U GT ’T?
