The two obese (obviously American) kids kinda look like young versions of Monty and Moondog. Brad seems to slide between long periods of pure zombieism and brief moments of near-normal activity (such as this response to the kids)….

I think the reaper is a decoration with a motion activated decoration, not a guy in a costume.
