To neverenoughgold: the cat’s $&#%@ smells so bad it seems to come from everywhere! The dog eats the cat $&#%@ and days the worst smell you have ever experienced. Nose was so badly injured, following it is no longer an option.

Monty, have you already paid for those specs?! By all means, man, get your money back, get a new ophthalmologist, and get a proper prescription, before you kill someone (most likely, yourself)!

That’s one incredibly bad pair of glasses if he’s now completely blind and can’t even identify the general direction of sounds.

Too small frames cover too little of the field of vision, perhaps giving Monty a bit of an idea what it can be like adjusting to glaucoma. He will begin to bump into people much more often because he will not see them there, he will hit things with his hands when he gestures and even get injured that way sometimes, he will get used to turning his head more and will move his eyes side to side more (yes, some people mistakenly think people w glaucoma have shifty eyes). If the frames are small in the center rather than just the sides he might have to do the trick that is useful when field on the nasal portion of the eyes is lost and hold small tasks in front of just one eye because of loss of central binocular vision.

When the shoe fits, wear it; after all, Monty is a bit “narrow minded”, isn’t he?

I sympathize. I had to get new glasses recently, and all they have anymore seem to be these stylish small lens glasses. I picked one of the larger ones, but it’s still only a fraction of the size of the lenses I’ve had for years. Slice the tiny lens into trifocals, and the focal area is tiny, and I feel lost most of the time. Anything in my peripheral vision is outside the sweet spot of the lens, and out of focus. These glasses are fine for computer work, but I’m tempted to get something else for the wearing most of the time.

My new trifocals are a little larger than the old. The old ones were about the same size as Monty’s new lenses. No problems seeing. Just still having trouble getting used to the reading portion of the lenses. Monty sounds like he got plain glass for his lenses.
