    My late brother did the same thing. Took apart a Lambretta and ended up with a plastic bag of pieces that weren’t needed in the reassembly process.

    The thing that always mystifies me is when the device still works without a part or two. Which brings to mind transistor radios. When they first came out, they were marketing the number of transistors. I think one radio had 52 transistors. Then I read only 3 were actually needed. If true that means the other 49 were useless.
