I think a lot of people are missing the point here. Monty wasn’t eating E.B.’s leftovers (like the joke about eating almonds after someone sucked the chocolate off), he was eating his own Tootsie Pop. The joke is that E.B. has so much more self control than Monty that he can do it all the time, but Monty can never suck off the candy and save the Tootsie part.

We were kids at the movies and my cousin & I pooled our limited resources to buy Jordan almonds- he’d suck off the candy shell and I’d eat the almonds.
