How humbling it must be for a rich person to be going door-to-door for a cause. Kind of like how Prince used to go door-to-door proselytizing with his fellow Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Girl Scouts sold Raspberry cookies online last year and people bought them and resold for $30 a box on some sites. I don’t get the fascination as I don’t like any of them and give them money instead. They’ve discontinued the Raspberry ones this year.
We have come to a place where if you serve some food item socially there will be those who decline based on some professed ‘allergy’; the"’I can’t eat that" faction. There will also be those who decline with a “I won’t eat that” declaration. If you have enough of both camps, you can successfully serve a very small number of treats only to those who will savor and appreciate them.
You wouldn’t believe how many things people are “allergic” to listening to the stories of nurse friends. One patient said anything with opioids makes them relax too much and they fall asleep. There are some genuine allergies out there just pointing out the delusional.
Amusing but a little off-base. The “allergic”-to-everything cohort are youngsters. Maybe it’s because allergies have killed people off before they turn 80,

I have the same allergies she has. I just give the kids some cash to contribute to whatever cause.

… So, would you like to buy some of the cookies anyway to support the academy? I can be sure that the cookies also go to a good cause."

I don’t see Sedgwick doing this. Must be a nightmare sequence.

The palm oil is probably from a monocultural plantation that displaced orangutan habitat.

If I were down to my last 5 dollars and my last 5 minutes on Earth and spotted a Girl Scout selling cookies, I’d die broke but happy.

a long list of allergies, which I’m guessing is the result of generations of inbreeding that’s not uncommon in the wealthier class.

Can it be that young Wonderbrat Sedgwick is learning to accept failure?
Or is Jarvis required to buy every box that no one else will buy?
