waiting to use an atm yesterday, i observed the woman in front getting all flustered at the message on the screen, while the woman who’d preceded her was searching through her purse in a panic. it took them both more than a couple minutes to realize that the first one had left her bankbook in the machine and walked away while the transaction was still being printed…
