I worked in construction. It always amuses me to see men doing roadwork, wearing hardhats. Is a seagull going to drop a clam on someone’s head? Will a pebble jump up and knock a guy unconscious?

I was taking Duolingo… for my French… as my second language… As I Googled yet another obscure expression from GC… I realised that I’ve been learning American too – “Soft shoulder”…?
