One of life’s great mysteries.

From the time when many women had maids to do that for them.

Because men design the clothing.

Time was that there were many women’s clothes that buttoned up the back. I guess that gave husbands a chance to come to the rescue. Though now, I seldom see back button clothing in women. I understand this was due to women making their wishes known to the mostly male designers.

My wife never has. I’ve never seen this fashion trend.

Same with back-closing bras?

Is this an actual thing that exists?

I remember zippers up the back but not buttons. That was dumb. Unless of course you did have a maid.

Y’all missed the point, buttoning in the back prevented easy access to the chest in heavy petting, if they did such things in those puritanical times…
