Because they don’t pay attention. YOU better make sure the car is sitting still when you water the wheels.

Most rabbits in the wild don’t eat carrots.

And carrots being good for the eyes was disinformation used by the Brits in WWII . They said their pilots ate carrots for good vision to conceal their radar developments from the Nazis. It has no basis in fact.

I fear Grim is blaming the poor creatures for human negligence, but it’s a cartoon strip, so we’ll overlook that!

I think their eyes are good, they’re seeing the female rabbits on the other side of the road.

Down in Florida you don’t see many dead animals, the buzzard patrols clean them up before you can see them.

What rabbits on the road? We always had dogs, cats, squirrels, and raccoons for road kill. Plus the occasional deer. I guess the rabbits were too smart.

Where I come from, we’ll see dead raccoons, porcupines, skunks, and cats on the road.

Why are there so many dead rabbits on the highway? Because they are harebrained and can’t calculate V=d/t (Velocity=distance divided by time)!

Rabbits dont eat carrots they eat leafy vegetables. Bugs Bunny ate carrots because he acted a lot like Groucho Marks.

Some years back (OK, a bit over fifty years ago), some ranchers in Wyoming thought that eagles were catching their lambs. They hired poachers in helicopters to shoot the eagles. After they were caught, I saw a picture in the paper of a game warden standing next to a mound of dead eagles about three times his height.

My friend was a railroad engineer, driving trains from Ogden, UT, to Cheyenne, WY. He said that the next year, after they arrived, they had to hose down the fronts of the locomotives because they were covered with blood and rabbit fur because there was such an overabundance of rabbits that the eagles had not eaten.

The rabbits also ate the foliage down to the ground so the ranchers had to haul in may to keep the sheep from starving.
