He served in the U.S.Army 15th Infantry in Tientsin, China from 1927 to 1929—He wrote several short stories of this experience in 1959 and it was issued in a book titled “The Old China Hands” published in 1963. Scarce now—But since he was Editor of the Tucson Newspaper The Daily Star from 1930 until 1970—When he died in 1984—his manuscripts, photos and stories can be seen by you at the University Of Arizona Main Library listed there as Collection # A 2024. He also wrote his first novel “The Circus Of Dr. Lao” in 1935. Info on Wikipedia and picture of "China Hands book cover on Amazon—Cheapest copy of “China Hands” seems to be $ 29.00—But the U of A main library could probably give you info on the author and this book.
