In 2002 I wrote a song thatt I called the “Geriatric Blues” for my B’day show that year. When I put it on my CD, I followed it with a short talk about….. Well, see for yourself, below.
On the subject of geriatrics: Like the song says. ain’t anything you can do about it, time will have it’s way.You can get all the nips and tucks and tightening, enhancements….. All the cosmetic surgury avaiable. And you can go out in the back yard and paint that old shed nice and pretty….. But it’s still an old shed inside.Have you ever watched the children? Four, five, six years old, seven, eight,, nine, ten? Their world is so full of wonders that adults pass by without noticing. A tiny flower. a pretty little rock, a sky full of puffy clouds that look like….. What did you see back when you looked. Remember?
…Life to so many becomes tunnel-vision. All they see or care about is what’s ahead of them. Any deviation from that is an interuption, an irritation. We need to hold some of that wonder in our hearts. Check out what that child finds so fascinating. Maybe a big black beetle crawling along that sticks it’s rear end up when it’s prodded. Look up at the sky the child is gazing at. Ask them what they see. You just might see it, too, once it’s pointed out. Watch the children and remember, you can be child-like without being childish. I am so glad my world is still filled with wonders!!
Good morning, VagaBonds,.We’re supposed to have snow late tonight and early tomorrow, so My Mountain Man will be bringing in lots of firewood into the garage for the next week or so. He went into town yesterday to get all the fresh veggies and stuff for the next few days. I was too weak from the chemo to do it. By Saturday or Sunday, I should be coming out of the “fatigue” cycle of this treatment..Slim, I love hearing about the “Wonder” of children and our perspectives on life. It is really what I am going through right now. I seem to “see” so much more every time I venture out.
My first day off since buying the house. My plans for the day include starting to clean up the yard and maybe laying out some house plans for a little renovation project.

Good Afternoon Vagabonds..Slim: So very true. I make it a point to spend time outside with my grandkids exploring. They are both old enough now to start their own spots in the garden. I can hardly wait until spring to find out what they want to grow. My favorite times as a kid were spent exploring the woods and walking along the river/lake banks. ;).Arye: I have memories of the movie involving murder, stairs and shadows with the girl as a witness, but not knowing who the murder was until she was an adult, I remember that it had dark overtones like a Hitchcock film..Jan: Congrat! May you enjoy many, many more!.ML: We had snow showere yesterday monring, None of it stuck and we are back in the 60’s for the next week at least.
Jan, Congrats! We worked on our house today, yea! Wifey polished the front door and I installed new dead bolts. Got another quote on the roof and another quote from an insurance agent.

@CHRIS SMITH: “Arye: One of your movies sounds familiar, but I can’t put it together with a name. Sorry :(”
I’m glad you found one of the movies I queried about familar, even if you can’t remember the title. Can you tell me which of the movies it is?
