Another rainy, gloomy day today. We’re getting the edge of the storm that’s passing over California so we expect rain most of the day. It’s not bad enough for flooding though, at least not in our part of town. There are some areas of this valley that flood fairly frequently. We have a carport right next to our south facing windows and you can hear the rain drumming on the metal roof. It’s almost a soothing sound. Not a whole lot of range of temps though. Last night was 46, now it’s 48 and the expected high is 50.
I gave away my copy of “Fire Starters”, a daily devotional that is a kick-start for prayers about a topic for that day. I tried to get a new one, but everyone seems to be sold out, including Amazon. So I asked Mike to text me a screenshot of each day’s entry until I can get a new one. Instead, he gave me his copy. He’s part of a men’s group that sends out the devotional for the day to the whole group so he gets his daily “dose” that way. If Amazon ever gets more copies to sell, I highly recommend it. It was written by Ron Vietti, the senior pastor of the church in Bakersfield from which Mike’s church is an offshoot.
Laundry day today. Michael and I have split the task. I sort the dirty stuff, he does the washing & drying and I fold what isn’t hung up. It takes the tedium out of laundry day for me and gives him something to do.
Good morning, Vagabonds.
