Nothing is ever created or destroyed, it just changes phase. Everything that is ‘alive’ is made up of minerals and their constituent atomic compounds, as are rocks, so there is at least a connection between them that way especially since the minerals go through multiple cycles. Ever see a fossilized coral, or fossiliferous sandstone or limestone? It’s now a rock, but was once alive. That’s what the concept of animism means to me, so I use the term because I don’t know enough math and physics to explain it scientifically. Oh, and BTW, I’m a professional Geologist with multiple degrees and decades of industry experience. I will admit I’ve quit suggesting that sometimes sedimentary rocks in outcrop sort of talk to me, gets me looked at funny.

I think all living things can think, to a degree. I’d probably be a bit startled if they started talking to me, though.

If even rocks had feelings, it would be impossible for us to function without being mean to a lot of things.

Rocks no unless they are hidden aliens. Otherwise, the plants can via pheromones.
