From late 1982 to mid-1986, a comic strip titled Conrad was about a frog who ran a scam, convincing a dim-witted fairy tale princess he was an enchanted prince who’d be turned into a human by a kiss. Of course, he was doing his best to avoid her kisses.
The princess had a pet alligator who thought he was a dog and, at least once, played at being Snoopy flying against the Red Baron.
The artist later created the still-running strip The Grizwells.
Saw an animation video on YouTube where a prince takes a perilous journey to bring an enchanted lily pad to a hag. She uses it to lift the terrible curse on him and change him back into a frog.
John Moore has written a number of “fractured fantasy” novels, in which characters approach fantasy tropes with modern-day sensibilities. I like them a lot. In The Unhandsome Prince, a young (but smart) village girl hears about a visiting prince who had been turned into a frog, and sets about finding him to kiss. She divides the local pond into sections, she dams the stream into it so that the current stock isn’t contaminated with tadpoles, and sets about her task methodically. She’s successful.
(She’s disappointed when the prince, once kissed, turns out to be just okay, but not handsome, as the trope demands. This sets her on a quest to the big city, in search of a promised Handsome prince.)

“Would you kiss me for ten million dollars?”
“Why sure!”
“Would you kiss me for a nickle?”
“No, what kind of girl do you think I am?”
“We already know what kind, we’re just trying to decide on the price.”

I was once sued for eating frog legs, but the plaintiff didn’t have a leg to stand on.

What if they are All “enchanted Princes”, having inherited the status from their Daddy, Enchanted Frog Numero Uno?
And, when you consider that the common frog can lay between 3,000 to 6,000 eggs each time …
It’s probably even more when the daddy Frog is Royalty.
