How many recognized that throwing salt over your shoulder was down if you spilt the salt. According to superstition, spilling salt is bad luck and throwing a pinch over your shoulder reverses that bad luck. It was believed that if you spill salt, the devil sees it as an invitation to step in and do evil.
1) The grocer sends a large bill to Aunt Fritzi for the spilled salt.
2) Fritzi spanks Nancy and makes her stand in the corner.
3) Nancy sees a lawyer who petitions the court to terminate Fritzi’s guardianship.
4) Nancy is placed in a far better foster home.
5) When she grows up, Nancy will become an advocate for the homeless, after she sees Fritzi begging on the street because she lost her government subsidies after Nancy was taken away.
