I attended an elementary school where the teachers rotated through the grades with the students. We would get assigned a few books to read throughout the summer and had to give oral/written book reports on our assignment during the first few days of school. I liked to read, so it wasn’t onerous for me. What I didn’t like was standing in front of the class to present my book reports. I was glad when we moved.
I can relate…..I ran for 9th grade secretary and had to get up in front of the whole student body in the auditorium and give a speech…it worked out well but I was scared to death until I started speaking, then I got in my groove….I’m an introvert so that was some accomplishment for me.

Next panel: Fritzi sends Sluggo and Rollo home and then spanks Nancy for using her diaries as croquet loops.

Good thing they didn’t say “hit the books” around Sluggo.

Ironically, the three books on the floor were copies of Alice in Wonderland.
