Fritzi’s still gonna end up with PSS (Popeye Spinach Syndrome), leaving nipples on her elbows and knees. In her favor though, that might be quite a kink for her dates.
BTW, Fritzi? Try putting something on the plate in addition to the spinach, so that she tastes more of the other item while downing the green stuff. (I learned to do this for veggies I don’t necessarily care for yet not get nagged about it.)
I must have been a weird kid, but I absolutely loved spinach, still do. A little cider vinegar on it to go with the roast beef and mashed potatoes with gravy for Sunday dinner, perfection.
My favorite base green for salads. Also like it sauteed or in Florentine dishes. But boiled? Nope. Besides, that removes many of the vitamins and minerals.

Nancy already has a girlish figure.

Olive Oyl could’ve told her that, and preserving Nancy’s girlish figure seems like a bad idea, (see the case of Little Orphan Melvin, Mad #9.)

At least she’s setting a good example, not do as I say and not as I do.

Who conducted that test—Popeye?? If so, he should force Olive, and not Swee’ Pea, to consume it!!

I don’t think too many households had TV sets in 1950…….Aunt Fritzi was a trailblazer.

Well, the spinach worked. 60 years later in the Gilchrist era, Aunt Fritzi was va-va-voom. She still looks good in 2023 but is more of a mom-bod.

I rather like spinach.

In panel #4, I find it to be interesting that Ernie didn’t draw the chair that Nancy was sitting on in panels #1 and #2.
