@Joecrow and @blunebottle actually you’re both right. Paul started with “And now, for the rest of the story” and he finished the segment with “Now you know the rest of the story.” I listened to his daily "Paul Harvey News and Comment " and his Saturdays “The Rest Of The Story” for many, many years. I’d say from the fifties except that would date me.
Glad Sluggo got there safely! 1 time when I was a teenager some guy kept following me around on a train, and I didn’t feel safe until I got back into the club car where there were a bunch of old folks drinking! There had been a derailment of a train ahead of us, and I was so relieved when we reached our destination! Back then, parents thought nothing of letting their kids travel alone, but I wouldn’t recommend it nowadays.
Paul Harvey usually had some good “wrap-up” stories, too. Like the one he told of the Indianapolis hotel that put in a rush call for an electrician. It seems the first two letters of their out-front sign had burned out. Is was the ESSEX HOUSE.

And now, for the rest of the story. (A saying from the late Paul Harvey).

I really used to listen to him in the fifties along with The Lone Ranger and other old time radio shows.

Alas, there’s no passenger rail service to Gallatin, TN…er, Three Rocks USA these days. Other than that nitpick, nice story.
