The Genesius Guild of Rock Island, IL always closes each system with an ancient Greek comedy; but on the assumption that most of the humor was ancient Greek topical humor, they substitute modern topical humor. In 1986 they did Aristophanes “Peace”, in which a framer flies to Mt. Olympus on a beetle. In GG’s version, he sent his three servants to get a suitable beetle. They came back with Beetle Bailey, a Volkswagen, and John Lennon.

I would guess that he’s Lois Flagston’s favorite Beetle, too.

Great rendering of Beetle Bailey! If the Walkers should ever retire, maybe they’ve found the right Guy to take over?

Y’know, I never thought about the similarities between the two characters, but now that they’re right in front of me …
Good one.
