Life’s little irony. They would have been better off with the packet of Skittles. Although it has been maybe 5 years since have eaten Skittles, I still believe (in spite of this massive inflation) that there are more than three Skittles in a packet!
I know I’ve made this complaint before, but the current Nancy is just an unpleasant jerk, and selfish to boot. Ernie Bushmiller’s Nancy had her faults (in today’s classic Nancy strip, she’s trying to avoid sharing her ice cream with another kid), but her faults seem more like what a real kid would have (in today’s classic strip, she at least seems to feel guilty about her selfishness). The current Nancy needs counseling, before she grows up to be a sociopath.
I only read the current strip because of its connection to Ernie Bushmiller’s original strip, and I sometimes wonder if I should continue.

It’s important not to overcommit early, of course. Better to have a very little left over than run out, and all that.

Fritzi… What did you think would happen if you had Nancy hand out the candy?

It’s interesting that the English-language comic uses a brand-name; the Spanish-language version is generic.

And the word went forth: Avoid Nancy’s house.

We need Maury Povich to come out of retirement, and find out if Ralph Drabble is Nancy’s father.
