I have had similar experiences twice. First, my brother and I were going over a bridge with a severe curve on the other side in a snowstorm. I turned the wheel, the car didn’t. There was a river on the other side of the road with a steep drop to it. My brother was seated next to me. I reached across him to hold him to th seat and said, “hold on this is it”. The car hit a dry patch and yanked itself to the right and down the curvey hill instead of over the embankment. I was calm thru the whole ordeal. Second time my wife and I were driving in what we thought was a rain storm and tried to change lanes. It was ice. Car spun 360 degrees across a three lane Expressway. Went between the two cars in the lane next to ours and ended up on the median. I was calm then too. Maybe that is what happens at the end. A sense of peace and serinity as the inevitable approaches.
