I remember an old Sunday cartoon (don’t remember the strip, though) where a kid is being subjected to ever-larger dialog balloons where his mom (as it turned out) is yelling “NO!” The punch line is that in the last panel, after about 18 “NO!”s, the kid thinks “Two more and it’s mine!” I think I only got one chance when I was growing up; if I pushed it past that, there was hell to pay.
