For those reading this for the first time, Dan Quayle was the United States Vice President from January 1989 to January 1993. He was famous for being an intellectual lightweight. While the most famous story about him, that he said he was going to brush up on his Latin before visiting Latin America, was untrue, the story that he claimed an economic recession had ended because McDonald’s was hiring was 100% true.
