Ordinary Basil. The only crystal outside the Odians' secret cavern powered the flying city of Helios. Hidden among the great city's peaceful population were a handful of Von Rottweil's fanatical followers. At that exact second, Helios was passing over the Mariana Trench - the deepest part of Earth - when the crystal plummeted 5,000 feet to the Pacific Ocean. As the lights dimmed, panic gripped the courtroom. "Three days," Von Rottweil threatened the judge. "Without a power crystal, Helios has three days before it crashes to Earth." With a vengeful sneer, he added, "Only I know where to get another. Set me free or die..." For Basil and Louise, three days seemed like an eternity in the primordial jungle of the crystal cavern. "Now what, Louise?" Basil shouted in terror. "Swim for your life!"
