Danae: So how long will it take us to get there, Jeffrey? Jeffrey: Well, Mars 3.5 is 16.3 light-minutes from Earth. ...But the wormhole folds space and time to converging points, so using anti-gravity as propulsion, and staying in the warp slip stream of Lars' ship to guide us, assuming all the trajectory variables... About 15 more minutes. Danae: Tha-ank youuuu.

Jeffrey, don’t you remember that Danae isn’t interested in science or reasoning?!?

You should have “gone” before we left Earth. Now you have to hold it.
ejcapulet over 15 years ago
Well, she said “how long” not “how”.

I think I can hold it for 15 minutes, but I wore diapers like the real astronauts do just in case.

Typical woman - they ask a question, you answer it accurately and truthfully, but if they do not like the answer, … How’s that for a sexist comment?

Danae: “How long will it take for us to get there, Jeffery?”
Jeffery: “About 15 minutes.”
Danae: “What, no nerdy science-like explaintions like how you always give me?”
Jeffery: “I should know by now in this strip that you (like many others who minds are elsewhere) are not interested in science or reasoning, Danae. So there!”
Doane: “Good point!”

Wicky actually, she’d probably destined for management. Especially since she doesn’t understand tech. I had a manager once who would tell me: “I don’t want to know how you do it, I just want to be able to press one button and bim-zam-wow! out comes the report…..

The other side of that was in Dilbert Sunday: “The best way to compile inaccurate information that no one wants is to make it up.” Sure makes the gathering and reporting easier!

Sadly, you are all probably correct, but she would have worked out quite well as a greeter.
