Man: I've traveled halfway around the world to learn the secret of true contentment. Wise Man: Ah, that's easy... live each day with this in mind... arguing with idiots makes you an idiot. Man: That's it? Wise Man: Yep. Woman: Well...? What'd he say? Man: To stay off the Internet and don't run for Congress.

Larry I’m sure he’ll be back, but there’s no more guarentee of seeing Homer on Sundays as there is of seeing Danae on weekdays.

There is the instruction to beginners on the Buddhist path that one should hold their speech because rambling thoughts spoken aloud are not a good thing. As for contentment, that requires a lot of delving into ones consciousness and that’s hard work to resolve all the issues. Most people think they have everything sufficiently under control, that it’s not worth the effort, and that’s also OK for that time and place. I therefore 4th Dogmore.

jster51 almost 15 years ago
Is that a rhetorical question?????
Cmlbx almost 15 years ago
Don’t argue with idiots. They’ll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

If you argue with an idiot, by-standers often can’t tell the difference.
Justice22 almost 15 years ago
Guess I’ll have to stop talking to anyone on this forum. (Hate to make you guys idiots too.)

Contentment………It’s like being a cat……all you need is a little love from someone, something to eat, and a sandbox…. ;)
Allen Rymer almost 15 years ago
Reminds me of my ex girlfriend’s perception of my attitude toward other drivers….”I think you believe that 90% of the people in the world are idiots….and you have yet to meet the other 10%” to which I just say….Sooooo?

Nothing in this world is real… it helps to remember that.
