Danae: *Si-i-igh* Jeffrey: Something wrong, Danae? Danae: Oh, it's just that the leaves are almost gone, it's getting colder and colder and the days are getting shorter... Jeffrey: The days aren't really shorter. That's a common misconception due to the decreasing daylight hours as the Earth tilts on its axis away from the sun. The length of a day is still 24 hours. But if we were in Australia, we'd be getting more daylight time, only not at this very moment through, because it's actually night there right now... Tempers, however, seem to get a lot shorter as it gets colder...
Never, ever try to console a melancholy female with logic. It’s both pointless and dangerous to your physical well-being. A little sympathy, understanding, and a well-timed hug is more effective- and feels better too, in both the long and short term. A flannel shirt and some padding can’t hurt, either.
