Man with white beard: Then he says,"You can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?" And like an idiot, I blurt out,"You betcha!"...
Caption: Moses at the midway point.
It’s a good job none of that really happened—the snake, the Flood, the (somewhat repetitive) Plagues the Canaanite genocide. Horrible! Even worse if it gave anyone ideas today..
@ Brass whatsit. I’m glad you can at least get a laugh out of the pictures. The snake and the Flood were, I admit, gratuitous (look it up), but the point depicted in the cartoon is roughly half way between the silly Plagues and the vile genocide, and it would be disgusting if notions of a ‘god-given’ promised land were to prompt anyone today to try to emulate those ancient, putative Hebrews.
The first known example of someone writing a check with their mouth that their butt couldn’t cash. Also, why do I picture the scene from History of the World, Pt. I where Moses parts the sea because he’s being robbed?
No oil? You must be kidding…..I suggest you try reading the news sometime.http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-07-17/israel-s-deepest-well-targets-1-5-billion-barrels-of-oil.html
Thirdguy: Or wall them off from the owners. The majority of Israelis (and probably all of the Likud) are not even Semitic, but Askanazim, an Indo-European ethnos.
Of course there is evidence for Israelites and some of the Bible has some relationship to history, but THOSE Hebrews, ie the ones depicted in Genesis and Exodus not so much!
Sorry about the Arthritis, I only have a few twinges of it, just enough to sympathise with you.

Moses couldn’t even “talk the talk”. He had a stammer (Exodus 4:10), so he had his brother Aaron speak for him (Exodus 4:15-16).

How did he talk the talk? He had a speech impediment. You could look it up, if you’re not familiar with the text. 8-)
