I met my wife at a high school dance in 1965. We were married in 1971. I was never a bachelor and I never had to play the game.

The brilliance of Willey’s work is the character on the sidewalk, staring a the car. We can relate, and it pulls us in. Otherwise it’s just a sight gag.

I must have missed out on a lot over the years. I never went to any bar or event that was labeled “Ladies Night” I thought it was exclusive. They were special, not that they were the special.

Is Friday-Saturday night bar traipsing still a thing??? I found it so boring I gave it up about 40 years ago. . .

Chances are that if you meet someone at a bar, they have a drinking problem. BTDT.

In today’s so-called romantic atmosphere, this way is best, and should be followed by living together for at least one year..

On the back window of a car in front of me had one of those stick figure family stickers. A dad, mom and two kids. Over the dad figure were the words “position available”.

I’ve never done the club scene and I have only been married twice but I have had more “honeymoons” than I reasonably had a right to expect. :) :) :)

Not sure I get this one. Does the car belong to a woman and she is looking for a husband? Is that why her car has the tin cans attached? Is she going to get married as soon as she finds a man at the bar?

Darn it, no commentary on the U.S. political scene today. :(

Modern romance sucks. Used to be a day and age when you could approach someone. A lot of couples used to meet at work. And now it is constant fear of: “Sexual harassment! Sexual harassment!” I am not too old, but do want to do online dating — I shall forever be single for the remaining days of my life . . . (even though I’ve been told I am “a catch” by women before (friend’s girlfriends, others)).

So sad.
