Tombstones are cheaper when you can order them directly with the date of death instead of having to wait for it and pay extra.

I thought the Non Sequitur writers had a special on tombstones with the line Hey, hold my beer and watch this.

Maybe he’s confused about the format (is it M-D-Y or D-M-Y? Y-M-D?) As it is, he’s writing on a literal block!

I once saw the epitaph, “He died as he lived”, engraved on a headstone made to look like a champagne bottle.

These guys have a lot of job security in today’s market. Over 150 people dying every day in the United States from fentanyl over dose because of Joe’s open border policy. Hey, Sr. Tech Writer, where you at? Blame the past administration.

When visiting family, I have enjoyed strolling a graveyard and reading lengthy inscriptions on old tombstones in Charlottesville, VA. Detailed personal stories come alive and show the challenges and fascinating journeys that were a part of life a hundred plus years ago.

How the t own of Tombstone, Arizona got its name.

A prospector who announced his intention to prospectin pre-statehood ARIZONA got the horse laugh from his friends—-“All you’ll find out there will be your tombstone”.

Well, that prospector made a rich silver strike. And when asked what he wanted to name the new mining town he said—“Call it Tombstone.Everybody said that’s what I’d find out here, why disappoint them?”

Letter To The editor in NEWSDAY

    Monday March 6,2023

Now that NEWSDAY has done the proper thing and dumped DILBERT,it is time to bring back NON SEQUITUR by Wiley Miller to t he comic pages.

NEWSDAY dropped NON SEQUITUR in 2019 for the terrible mistake of putting a short ,profane suggestion to then-President Donald Trump in small, barely legible script in the margin of a panel of one of his comics.Miller said he forgot to remove it,and it became a national issue.

I drive around my local area and have seen several flagsusing the same profanity against President Joe Biden, displayed where children walk by.

NEWSDAY still carries MALLARD FILLMORE,drawn by conservative Bruce Tinsley, who often lampoons liberal thoughts.

Be fair and bring back NON SEQUITUR

    James Delisio—Farmingdale,LI,New York

The problem with tombstones is that everyone takes them for granite.

Curious but the “clever one” seems to have omitted one important piece of information, the name of the owner.

Well, birth and death dates plus the deceased’s name (spelt properly) are a good start, if you are a monumental mason.
