Always wanted to come across a chalk body outline on the sidewalk and have a piece of chalk on my person. I’d add extra arms and legs and turn it into da Vinci’s Vitruvian man.
Too bitter to ‘like’ this one. In our central VA city, almost every am report includes at least one shooting and either an actual death or a serious wound, age/gender not a consideration.
Top ten most dangerous cities in the US [# of serious felonies per 100,000 based on FBI data] according to BBC Science Focus:1. St. Louis, MO2. Detroit, Michigan3. Baltimore, Maryland4. Memphis, TN5. Kansas City, MO [not Kansas]6. Milwaukee, Wisconsin7. Cleveland, Ohio8. Stockton, CA9. Albuquerque, AZ10. Indianapolis, Indiana
According to Safe and Sound Security [no references or definition specified]:1. Memphis, TN2. St. Louis, MO3. Little Rock, Arkansas4. Minneapolis, MN5. Detroit, Michigan6. Kansas City, MO7. New Orleans, Louisiana8. Cleveland, OH9. Birmingham, AL10. Houston, TX

The FBI website strongly recommends against using its data for ranking locations because it can be simplistic and misleading. The data are incomplete and somewhat inconsistent. Not every community reports everything at the same time. And, many smaller and more rural communities do not provide data directly to the FBI [it may be rolled up into the data for nearby cities]. Finally, there is no uniform method for categorizing crimes across the nation—what is a felony in one area, may be a misdemeanor in another; what is grand theft in one place may be petty theft in another.

Yes, there’s limits to sayings like “Look on the bright side” and “Turn your problems into opportunities!”
