I don’t know about that clinic. Their methods seem a little bit squirrelly to me.

I recall when I was a kid, my family’s Scotty-beagle mix (actually, a mutt half Scotty, a fourth beagle and a fourth unknown) broke the leather handle off of his leash going after a cat that was bigger than him.

If I were him, I’d change doctors-immediately!
