She reminds me of an innocent and very caring four-year-old … or an awfully naive and clueless first grader. (In my experience, the latter is a lot more typical of elder than younger children. Even though I’m an elder myself. But, whatever. Ruthie can have her silly days just like everyone else, and a lot of times she’s pretty street-smart - and bold about showing it.)
