Brunettes, like Ruthie (and my mother) look good in any primary colors. Her mom and I as blonds prefer pastels and I especially hated my mom’s choice of yellow and green - if your kids have a different coloring, don’t expect them to like your pallette.

After seeing the toxic-pink aisle at the toy stores, I don’t blame Ruthie. Dress a little girl in pink, and the world treats her like a Barbie.
