Its true, there are lots of foolish people who will buy anything they see on the internet.

My brother’s ex was practically obsessed with buying Star Wars merch under the guise that it will be really valuable some day, like the original merch from the 70s is valuable now. He had an entire room filled practically from floor to ceiling with Star Wars crap. The problem is that the original merch is valuable now because people used it, and now the stuff that’s in good condition is more scarce. With everyone and their cousins saving modern merch to sell later, there won’t be a scarcity and it won’t increase in value.

As W.C. Fields said, “There’s a sucker born every minute.”

That’s, uh . . . . that’s not really a real thing, is it? Asking for a friend . . .
