I grew up in Tulsa Oklahoma in the 60s and 70s, and elementary school was from kindergarten to 6th grade, jr. high school was 7th-9th grade, and high school was 10th-12th grade. (Ninth grade was officially the first grade in high school, but it was in the same building as 7th and 8th grade.) In 2006, I was in a long-distance relationship with a woman in Las Vegas. She had children in various grades, and I think one of them was in a school that only went up to fourth grade. Is there no standard for how the grades are allotted to different schools, is it different in each state, or has the standard changed?
