It seems like Ruthie is becoming a brat.

What in the world is a ‘rain block’?

Why can’t she go swimming in the rain? Is her mom afraid she’ll get wet?

It’s called a “raincoat”… but it doesn’t work if you’re totally submerged, Ruthie.

No, you can’t go swimming, its raining! You might get wet !

So what if it’s raining.

“Why can’t I swim in the rain?” “Because you’ll get wet!”

Unless there’s thunder I didn’t stop going in our pool when it rained.

One is more likely to be struck by lightning when in the water if it’s raining. Lightning is draw to taller objects. Your head can be the tallest object when you are in the water.

No indoor pools in the area?

What kind of rain block would stores sell? Like “Rain, Rain! Go away!” Or something like that?

As I recall, they use the public pool. They usually close when it’s raining.

How about a lightning block?

You can’t go swimming when it’s raining. You’ll get wet.

Heck, I used to go swimming all the time, when it was raining, to even include snorkeling. I never liked sunbathing, so I was going to get wet, anyway. It was the best time to go, since there was nobody else at the beach. :)
